Law of Attraction - What LOA coaches won't tell you?
The "LOA" Industry and the Reality of Success
Rhonda Byrne’s The Secret and its subsequent adaptation as a film made waves across the masses. Law of Attraction (LOA) was dubbed as "magic" or the "power of thought": think and it will come into action. The book insists on a methodology of positive thinking, assumption, and "seeing the magic." Inspired by this, a brand-new industry emerged. People called themselves "LOA coaches" (really?). They tell a backstory of how they 'discovered' these 'secret' techniques and almost all of them have a similar plot in the lines of,
They were going through a difficult time, struggling emotionally, financially, and mentally.
One fine day, they "stumbled upon a truth" by mere accident.
They conducted their own experiments and were enlightened by "MAJOR LOA TECHNIQUES" which brought them miracles.
Following their results, their lives changed miraculously; they bought a high-end house, a car, and found a beautiful spouse and children.
They fine-tuned their techniques, which were tested by their near and dear, and they are now here to sell them for the well-being of the general public.
Their aim is not to make money, but they operate out of goodwill to make their "techniques" benefit fellow humans.
Marketing method: Join their free online meeting session where "groundbreaking techniques" are revealed. Once you join, their books (supposedly worth several thousand INR) are now on sale for a few hundred. Towards the end of the workshop, one "advanced/hidden" technique—which will be revealed only upon paying several thousand—will be marketed. Not to mention the "benefactor reviews" of the benefits.
I hate to break this to you: they are all quacks. All of the positive comments on YouTube channels are fake; they are just smart people who know how to sell. My advice: don’t affirm. Stop watching their videos as a first step.
The Real Formula
Next, I hate to break this to you: there is no one formula that will get you toward your goals. You are most likely to succeed, but you may also fail due to a bunch of factors which I will enlist below.
A basic formula for LOA is a Bhagavad Gita formula: Chapter 2, Verse 47: "Karmanye vadhikaraste ma phaleshu kadachana" (You have the right to work, but never to its fruits). It has been widely translated as "do your work without expecting results." At any rate, don’t become desperate, because desperation leads to anxiety, and anxiety leads to skewed results.
That being said, what are the blockages?
Trauma: If you have been through a traumatic situation (I don’t want to use the term PTSD because I am not a qualified person to discuss this), your nervous system needs to calm down. Post-trauma, you are likely to go through bouts of desperation, anxiety, and negativity. Visit a mental health professional as a first step. Heal and let go.
Setting Fancy Goals: The universe responds only to your deepest, heartfelt desires. It’s not that there is no way if your desires aren't "deep" enough; it’s just that you need a different strategy.
Aiming Straight by Ignoring the Steps: This is exactly why I downplay every other LOA book and LOA coach. Say you want $1 million. Simply writing an affirmation like "I am getting $1M within two days" is not going to help. Chart out a plan. It could be setting up your own company; you need to raise funds; you need to know what you are going to do. Chart out a plan and stay committed to it. This is why I said only your heartfelt desires are more in tune, because only if your desire is heartfelt will you stay dedicated to your goal.
Expecting Things to Happen a Particular Way at a Particular Time: The universe likes surprises. Leave it. Let it go.
Having a Shattered, Undedicated Mind: Say you have decided to enroll in a course. You decide to get up in the morning but snooze the alarm. Then you get up, scroll, do something else, and you merely spend 20 minutes on your goal. You might think you have worked a lot, but no. A focused mind (which you can't have if you are dealing with trauma) will simply be up when the alarm goes off. That person has a workable schedule and sticks to it. The difference between a shattered mind and a focused mind should now be clear. (Doomscrolling has become a natural phenomenon).
Health and Fitness: Avoid junk and sugar. Go easy on meat without compromising protein intake. Eat spinach, fruits, and eat healthy. Practice grounding. I don't know the religious inclinations of people reading this blog, but Ganesha helps when it comes to grounding. Ganesha Mudra helps. Chant "Om Gan Ganapataye Namaha" (check reliable sources for correct pronunciation). Kubera Mudra—which activates Jupiter (associated with good luck/expansion), Mars (associated with action), and Saturn (patience/slow hard work)—can do wonders.
P.S.: Forget every other book. The Master Key System by Charles F. Haanel is the only book you need. No, this is not another social media comment campaign. Charles is long dead. No publisher has paid me to promote this book. Do read the book; Charles takes you by the hand.
